Sesame Street Live! Children / family Live at Rialto Square Theatre | Joliet – December 12th, 2026

The Genesee Theatre in Waukegan is more than just a historic venue; it’s a vibrant hub where the community’s spirit really comes alive. Known for teaming up with local businesses and artists, it’s a place that celebrates culture, creativity, and, honestly, some pretty memorable performances. I mean, who could forget the 50th anniversary of Hair in 2018, where the stage was transformed into a true spectacle? It’s also a space that champions local playwrights, giving them a platform to shine, which is pretty rare these days. If you want to soak in a show without the buzz, the upper balcony offers a quieter escape, but if you’re close to the action in the orchestra, you’re probably going to feel the emotions hit harder, trust me, those moments can be pretty intense. And for anyone coming from the south, taking those scenic back roads can turn the trip into a little adventure of its own. Whether you're catching a concert or a play, visiting the Genesee Theatre for Sesame Street Live! Waukegan promises an unforgettable experience, filled with nostalgia and joy for all ages.
